It is important to achieve a high feed intake during the dry period, to maintain the rumen function and to prepare the animals' calcium metabolism for the beginning of lactation. The concept
This feed concept is ideal for supplementing maize silage and straw. The mixture of the farm's own basic feed with the special feed developed especially for dry cows enables your animals to be supplied according to their needs. DCAB-optimised feeding actively prevents clinical and subclinical milk fever. The special active ingredient complex for dry cows contained in the concept supports the cow's metabolism and enables an optimal start to lactation.

Immuno*Care Complex
The Immuno*Care complex is specially designed to provide a balanced supply of all minerals, vitamins and trace elements in order to prevent the risk of antagonistic interactions between the individual minerals and trace elements. The high-quality selection of active ingredient sources includes rumen-protected vitamin A and organically bound trace elements to ensure loss-free supply even under critical feeding conditions such as acidotic feeding situations.
Immuno-Plus Complex
The Immuno-Plus Complex is a combination of active ingredients specially designed to meet the needs of cows in the dry period, transit phase and peak lactation. Essential components are rumen-protected methionine and rumen-protected choline chloride to support liver metabolism and prevent fatty liver. Special vitamin and trace element supplements additionally support the immune system. In this way, feeds with the Immuno-Plus complex enable the best possible start to lactation.
Rumen protected choline chloride
Rumen-protected cholone chloride is protected from the microbial degradation processes in the rumen and is only absorbed in the small intestine. This means it can be absorbed more easily and quickly by the organism. Choline chloride plays an important role in the formation of lipoproteins, which enable the removal of fat from the liver. The fat is thus available to the cow for energy metabolism and is not stored in the liver. Thus, feeds with rumen-protected choline chloride can help prevent fatty liver and associated liver damage and reduce ketosis-related damage.
Defined wheat content
These feeds contain a defined proportion of wheat. They thus provide a fixed proportion of fast-fermenting starch. This can promote microbial activity in rations lacking fast-fermenting starch and improve the overall digestibility of the ration.
Defined cutlet content
The feeds contain a clearly defined chipping fraction. This raw fibre fraction is subject to a moderate rate of degradation in the rumen and thus provides rumen-friendly energy. At the same time, they reduce the risk of acidosis. Especially in rations with a high content of rumen-degradable carbohydrates (when using maize silage, high-sugar grass silage and/or supplementing cereals), this slowly releasing energy source forms a sensible supplement.
opticon® UDP 33
The feeds contain opticon® UDP 33, which is rapeseed extraction meal refined by treatment with our patented opticon® pressure hydrothermal process. Corresponding feeds have a high proportion of rumen-stable protein (UDP), excellent palatability and improved crude fibre digestibility as well as good small intestinal digestibility of the protein and the amino acids it contains. Since rapeseed meal contains above-average amounts of methionine and since methionine is the first limiting amino acid for the cow, opticon® UDP 33 is an excellent, indispensable feed for high-performance cows.
Dietary-Cation Anion Balance (DCAB)
The DCAB is the balance of the cations sodium and potassium and the anions chlorine and sulphur. The lower the balance value in the ration, the more acidic the effect in the rumen and in the animal's metabolism. In dry cows, the aim is to set a low to negative DCAB in the ration, depending on the dry cow concept, in order to activate the calcium metabolism and prevent milk fever. For high-yielding cows, the aim is to set a DCAB > 150 meq/kg DM in the ration to avoid rumen acidosis and/or metabolic acidosis. This allows the animals to reach their full performance potential while improving their health status
Defined flax content
Appropriate feeds contain a fixed proportion of linseed products. These are of particular dietary importance due to their mucilage formation in the gastrointestinal tract. A number of other beneficial properties are attributed to mucilage, such as the promotion of intestinal activity and a positive effect on the rumen microbes. Finally, corresponding feeds serve to supply calves and high-performance animals with essential omega-3 fatty acids.
Defined maize share
Since starch is degraded to propionic acid in the rumen, which lowers the pH value in the rumen, the risk of rumen acidosis increases with the starch concentration in the ration. Starch from grain maize and maize by-products, on the other hand, is partly slowly degraded in the rumen and partly only in the small intestine. This makes it an energy supplier of high quality and at the same time gentle on the rumen. Especially in rations with a high content of rumen-degradable carbohydrates (use of maize silage, high-sugar grass silage and/or supplementation of cereals), this only slowly released energy source is a useful supplement.

The concept
At the beginning of lactation, a difficult balancing act between limited feed intake capacity and high nutrient requirements must be mastered. This is the only way to achieve consistently high performance, minimise health risks (e.g. ketosis) and prevent premature losses. ß-Carotene
A targeted supplementation of ß-carotene in feeds helps to master fertility problems and to take targeted action against sill oestrus, delayed follicle maturation, cysts and early abortion. ß-Carotene is an important antioxidant. Due to its small molecular size, it can penetrate the egg cell, increases the oestrogen level and thus the oestrus symptoms. It also increases progesterone levels and thus promotes uterine involution.
Polyphenols
Polyphenols belong to the secondary plant substances. They have an antioxidant effect and supplement the effect of selenium, vitamin C and E. As antioxidants, they protect the cells from free radicals, stabilise the cell membrane and thus strengthen the immune system. The supplementation of targeted polyphenol administrations is recommended for high performance requirements and stress situations.
Organic trace elements
A supply of feed containing organically bound trace elements is recommended especially for animals with high performance requirements and in stress situations. Organically bound trace elements have a higher bioavailability and are therefore absorbed more quickly and in larger quantities by the animal's organism.
