Deutsche Tiernahrung Cremer successful in association elections
Recently, the umbrella organisations of the German and European compound feed industry (DVT & FEFAC) met for board elections. In the process, Deutsche Tiernahrung Cremer (DTC) was able to assert itself twice: The general meeting of the German Pet Food Association (DVT) elected Managing Director Dr Heinrich Kleine Klausing as Vice-President to its Executive Committee. At the same time, the umbrella organisation of the European compound feed industry confirmed Dr Uwe Bornholdt as chairman of their expert commission.
Dr Heinrich Kleine Klausing, Managing Director (area: product conception/mineral feed) was elected to the Presidium at the General Assembly of the German Pet Food Association. The native of South Oldenburg thus complements the Presidium elected last year around DVT President Cord Schiplage as Vice President (source: DVT press release).
Who is the DVT?
The German Pet Food Association (DVT) is the umbrella organisation of the German feed industry. As an independent trade association, it represents the interests of companies that produce, store and trade in feed, premixes and additives for livestock and pets. Deutsche Tiernahrung Cremer has been a member of the association for many years and our employees are represented in central association committees.
Dr. Uwe Bornholdt re-elected as Chairman of the FEFAC Expert Group
Since autumn 2022, Dr Uwe Bornholdt, Division Manager Poultry at Deutsche Tiernahrung Cremer, has been Chairman of the Expert Group on Animal Nutrition of the European Feed Manufacturers' Federation (FEFAC). In the current election, the FEFAC committee has confirmed Dr Bornholdt as Chairman. In his function, Dr Bornholdt leads the consultations of the most important national compound feed associations on current topics of livestock feeding and compound feed production at European level. A central task: the development of guidelines that contribute to the European Commission's decision-making process.
What is FEFAC?
The European Feed Manufacturers' Federation (FEFAC) is the umbrella organisation of the European compound feed industry, based in Brussels. FEFAC represents 28 national associations such as the French EUROFAC, Dutch Nevedi, Spanish CESFAC or the German DVT. As the representative body of the feed industry, they campaign at European level for a sustainable and future-oriented feed and livestock sector . The proximity to the European Commission offers the possibility of an exchange at political level.
