There are many situations in which horses benefit from grain-free feeding. For example, feeds without grain and molasses are ideal for feeding animals with metabolic disorders. But also for horses with stomach and intestinal problems, the switch to a starch- and sugar-reduced diet is worthwhile. With the new grain- and molasses-free deukavallo Top Gastro, horse owners now have a fully vitamin- and mineralized pellet feed at their disposal.

Low in sugar and starch for horses with special needs

deukavallo Top Gastro is ideal for feeding horses with ECS (Equine Cushing Syndrome) or PPID (Pituary Pars Intermedia Dysfunction) and EMS (Equine Metabolic Syndrome) to reduce the feed-induced increase in blood sugar levels by reducing starch and sugar. This provides improved quality of life and life expectancy for the horse. Only six percent starch and four percent sugar also make deukavallo Top Gastro well suited for feeding starch-sensitive horses. With its high crude fiber content (> 25 percent), it is particularly digestible and supports stomach and intestinal activity. Especially horses with stomach problems or gastritis as a result of a starch-rich diet benefit from feeding deukavallo Top Gastro.

High-quality fibers support intestinal activity

Horses with little exercise are quickly overfed with a cereal-rich diet. Here, the grain-free deukavallo Top Gastro helps optimally to supply light-fed horses and horses prone to overweight. The high-quality fiber components in the pellet also support the roughage supply. Nutrient-rich alfalfa promotes chewing activity and salivation, thus contributing to optimal digestion. The comprehensive equipment with minerals, vitamins and trace elements rounds off the finely tuned recipe of deukavallo Top Gastro. The special feed is available in a practical 20 kg bag and is suitable for the supply of horses of all breeds.

Advantages of more reduced feeding on laminitis

Reduced starch feeding has a positive effect on laminitis. If poorly digestible starch-rich feed components from corn and barley enter the large intestine, they can have a negative effect on the intestinal flora and trigger inflammations such as laminitis. A grain-free horse feed such as deukavallo Top Gastro helps to keep the balance of the intestinal bacteria in balance and prevent faulty fermentation in the intestine.
