Feed control

In Germany, commercially produced compound feed is controlled in many ways and with great thoroughness. On the one hand, Deutsche Tiernahrung Cremer carries out its own extensive controls on an ongoing basis as part of its quality management. On the other hand, each federal state has an official feed control. These regularly check for ingredients, additives, undesirable substances and possible pollutants as well as for the correct labelling of the compound feeds according to fixed control plans. Farmers as well as various agricultural organisations also have feed regularly inspected at facilities equipped for this purpose. Results of independent feed tests and comparisons in the style of Stiftung Warentest are published in the agricultural trade press so that every farmer can read how the compound feeds are rated.
