Labelling of compound feed

The rule for compound feed is: what's in it is on it! The protein, fat and energy content of a feed as well as additives such as essential vitamins and trace elements are particularly important for nutrition that meets the needs of the animal. It is therefore a legal requirement to label pet food with this information. In addition, German compound feed manufacturers practice the so-called open declaration. This means that all raw materials used in the compound feed are listed individually in the accompanying documents or on the bag tag. The raw material with the highest proportion in the mixture comes first (declaration in descending order). In this way, every animal keeper knows exactly what he is feeding to his animals.
