Carob

Carob is obtained from the dried fruits (pods) of the carob tree(Ceratonia siliqua L.) from which the seeds have been removed. In further processing steps, a product with a high sugar content (approx. 40 %) and multiple sugars (oligosaccharides) is obtained, which have a positive effect on the flora of the animal's large intestine. Carob is characterised by a very high palatability and is mainly used in special products for young piglets (prestarter), young rearing calves (muesli prestarter) and broodmares as well as foals (muesli feed).
