Rolled oats are produced in specialised milling plants (hulling mills). First, the oats are hulled mechanically. The dehulled oats are rolled and further hydrothermally treated so that at the end of this production process there are oat flakes for human nutrition, which are also used in special feeds for young piglets (prestarters). Oat flakes are characterised by a high starch content(approx. 57 %) and the highest digestibility of the organic substance (well over 90 %)
