Pellets
Many mixed feedsare offered in the form of pellets. This means that the ready-mixed feed is pressed into small, solid, edible forms - similar to sugar cubes for humans - in the final processing step. Pellets offer many advantages in terms of consistent quality, processing, packaging and transport. Since dust formation is very low, they are readily eaten by the animals. Some animal species have to be offered the supplementary or complete feed as pellets, as they do not or hardly take up a meal-like feed. This applies to rabbits, for example.
