Wheat bran

Wheat bran is a by-product of the extraction of wheat flour for human nutrition. In flour milling, the endosperm is separated from the rest of the grain. Depending on the degree of milling, different products are designated. Wheat bran has a degree of milling of over 70 % and still contains certain amounts of starch(up to 15 %). The crude fibre contentis between ten and a good 12 %. The crude fibre and crude protein content(approx. 13-15 %) are of particular importance for animal nutrition. Wheat bran is mainly used in feed as a dietary component.
