Pregelatinised wheat starch

Pregelatinised wheat starch is a product consisting of wheat starch. The wheat starch is largely broken down by suitable heat treatment. The degree of starch breakdownis at least 50 %. This makes the product highly digestible, especially for young monogastric animals. If the wheat starch is subjected to suitable hydrolysis, it is referred to as partially saccharified pregelatinised wheat starch. The product must analytically contain at least 15 % reducing sugars.
