Skimmed milk powder
Skimmed milk powder is obtained from whole milk. For this purpose, the cream is separated by centrifugation (butter production) and the water is removed from the remaining skimmed milk by a very gentle spray or roller drying process. Skimmed milk powder contains approx. 35 % raw protein with a high biological value and very high digestibility as well as approx. 45 % milk sugar(lactose). Skimmed milk powder is used as a highly digestible source of protein in the diets of young monogastrics (e.g. piglets) and calves.
